Lunches downtown
A big thanks to LOCR and March of Dimes for donating their leftover lunches to the cause. Today we were able to deliver lunches to people at the The Transition Project (a shelter for homeless men in Portland). Many of the lunches were happily received before we could even get in the door. If you have an event where extra leftovers would otherwise be thrown out, consider giving the food to those who would appreciate it the most.

Gubernatorial Debate on the Environment
Bill Bradbury, John Kitzhaber, and Allen Alley will be debating their ideas and positions on the environment at Portland State University's Smith Ballroom at 6pm March 30th. The debate is hosted by Oregon Environmental Council, Oregon League of Conservation Voters, the Oregon Chapter of the Sierra Club and Environment Oregon. Candidates will address a range of topics including climate change and clean energy, toxics and public health, and the management of the state's natural resources and wild places. Several of the Green Teens will be in attendance and encourage you to attend.
March 27th Hour of Darkness
On March 27th a 24 hour-long wave of darkness will sweep around the globe as people and corporations turn out the lights from 8:30 to 9:30 pm local time to mark Earth Hour - sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund to promote effective climate change action. The Green Teens will be supporting the effort by shutting off our lights and encourage people everywhere to do the same. For more information visit http://www.myearthhour.org/
